Skills and Expertise
The Profile page includes a section for Skills and Expertise.
On your page, add to this list the skills that you wish to share.
- Start typing in a skill -- either selecting one that exists, or create a new one
- Drag a skill up or down to place it in the proper group.
- Click Save after any update.
On someone else's page,
- Click to +Endorse or -Remove your endorsement of this person’s skills and expertise.
- Or add more to the list.
This section allow you to enter relevant (and perhaps not immediately relevant) skills. This can help your Peer to provide more useful assistance.
It may be (it often is) that your outside hobbies or unusual experiences give you a unique and valuable perspective on the problem at hand.
For example, add "Scuba Diver" as a "Low" skill to help inform your Peer of your background as you try to break into marketing for water sports (perhaps raise it to "Medium" if you're certified in cave diving or instruction).
Already speak the lingo of websites? (WordPress, PHP, Shopping Carts, PWA). Add them to your skills so the Peer can skip basic advice.
You'll notice Peers display their skills and expertise also. Use their listed skills to find the right Peer and improve interactions. Endorse them, if you find them knowledgeable.
A 1-minute video demonstrates how to enter and modify skills.
(The video includes information about how skills are used to prioritize search results: this is relevant only for Peers. Your profile cannot be searched.)
